Green and Fun Cities of the Future

International Event

By 2050 the world's population is expected to reach almost 10 billion. By that time, nearly 70% of the population will live in urban areas. To help understanding, shaping and designing cities of the future, we are organising this international workshop which brings together students and experts from Slovenia and Austria. In the time of COVID-19 pandemic, they will use online tools to collaborate, carry out their research and present their solutions for the future in the final event, which is open to public. In the research and co-creation process, they will focus on two urban challenges: waste management and mobility.

Their main research and development question is: How can we create solutions for the future which are sustainable, planet-centred, people-friendly and also fun?

This event is a result of the Invisible Life of Waste: Development of an Ethnography-Based Solution for Waste Management in Households project (L6-9364), co-funded by the Slovenian Research Agency, and UniverCity Action Lab project, co-funded by the EU Erasmus+ programme.
