Born in Ljubljana, 1975.
BA in ethnology and cultural anthropology, 2000.
MA in non-European ethnology (2003).
PhD in Ethnology (2006)
Jaka Repič has worked at the Department of Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology, Faculty of Arts, University of Ljubljana since 2002. He was the editor of the monograph series Zupanic’s collection (2005-2006). He is active in organization of conferences and summer schools (MESS, EASA 2008 conference in Ljubljana, ISIM 2008 conference in Elche 2008 etc.


Urban anthropology, Ethnology of Australia and Oceania, Urban and transnacional anthropology; practical classes on Methodology in Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology and seminar on Urban anthropology.

Fields of Research

Slovene diaspora, transnational migrations, urban anthropology, identification processes, interethnic relations, theories of ethnicity.
